Quill 6 presented with FIABCI Prix D'Excellence Award 2013 for outstanding Office Category
Taichung, Taiwan (27th May 2013) - The Quill Group of Companies accepted The Silver Prize for Outstanding Office Development Category during the recent FIABCI Prix D'excellence awards in Taichung, Taiwan for it's prestigious project located in Lebuh Ampang called Quill 6. Which is a building that is currently tenanted by HSBC.
The idea of Quill 6 started when HSBC deicided that it needed more office space in Kuala Lumpur, they did not want to move away from their original headquarters in the middle of the city's vibrant Lebuh Ampang area to somewhere else.
Instead, the Malaysian subsidiary of the second largest banking group in the world decided that they was going to bring contemporary chic and modernity to this location, which is close to the original birth place of Kuala Lumpur's commercial banking quarter. HSBC worked with the Quill Group to construct then lease out to the bank a building annexe to its existing premises in Lebuh Ampang.
Quill has forged a reputation for building top of the line premises for multinational corporations such as BMW and DHL, the slick HSBC Group Service Centre as well as for IBM in Cyberjaya. The result of this tie up is a steel and glass monolith that punctuates through the historic quarter of Kuala Lumpur. This 24 storey tower with four storeys of basement offers 265,000 sq feet of built up space.
Even with th challenges of the tight urban location among pre-war shophouses, proximity to the LRT infrastructure, traffic congestion as well as low water tables from the adjacent rivers. Quill 6 was subtly grafted into this urban frabric.
Quill 6's space planning capitalises on its spectacular unobstructed views (as it rises above its dense urban surroundings) by adopting full height glazed facades. It has sweeing vistas of the river and two fully glazed staircases making it a distinctive statement.
In a landscape where good grade 'A' offices are hard to come by, Quill 6 delivers high qualitdesign, high end building materials and state of the art technology. It is no surprise then that the building has won the FIABCI Prix D'excellence Award.
